The lights came on in the tank this morning and I fed the fish. I saw one investigating something at the bottom of the tank. To my horror, it was one of my hillstream loaches (Beaufortia kweichowensis), lying on his back! I didn't know what to do for him, but I know they feel uncomfortable with thier bellies exposed, so I thought he might feel a bit better sat upright. So I gently picked him up and put him on a rock so could at least feel more secure. He slowly slid off. I put him on top of some bogwood, sort of resting in a crack, so he could sit right side up. There he stayed, occasioanlly moving a fin, poor fellow...
The other one, which is quite a bit smaller, is just fine. I don't know what the problem could be. My tank is not an ideal setup for them (it's not a river tank) but it's pretty dec
