My Water Smells.....

...and I've been told by several people that this is because I keep my water temp. too high. The smell is pretty foul. I'm really anal about keeping the tank clean and the water changes regular. There's no visible algae growth, so my questions are:

1) Could the water temp. be the cause of the smell?
2) If the temp. is the cause then how do I deal with the smell.
3) If it's not the water temp. what could cause this?

My thought was that the warm water temp. casues humidity, which in turn causes the foul odor; so maybe a dehumidifier?

The tanks in question are a 55 gallon thats home to 5 clowns of various sizes and some yoyo's (along with tiger barbs for dither) and a 40 gallon that house's 4 skunk loaches, a Rainbow Shark and a few assorted danios.
