A note on river tanks

A few weeks back I posted that I had added some new river rocks to my river tank. I mentioned that the fish were very active after the small changes.
Today I removed and cleaned a large bowl-shaped piece of wood and vacuumed quite thoroughly under rocks and so on. I trimmed the plants and put everything back in a different way. It's very tidy, although I'm not impressed by how it looks.
Anyway, the river tank loaches have been going nuts. Unlike Botia tanks, where a small change can make clowns and others seem like they're panicking, the brook and hillstream loaches seem to be engaged by the changes.
Mine is not a huge tank - 20g - and it's maxed out with fish, but I see only a few of them during the day. The
