I picked up 3 large 4-5inch botia angelicus which are now in my main tank with my 4 botia striatas.
I am worried that the 3 new "Polka-dot botias" are not getting enough to eat. I put in sinking tablets and the striatas go into feeding frenze mode but the polka-dots can't seem to find the food. Now the polka-dots aren't pushed around by the fighty zebra's it's just that the polka-dots don't seem to be able to find food on the bottom. When I feed my hatchets floating foods the polka-dots are all over the waters surface covered with plants trying to locate the food.
Is this perhaps a natural feeding method of polka-dots? They seem to have little fear of the upper layers of the tank vs. the zebra's.
