possible injury?

I would love some advice from anyone who might know more than me about this. I picked up a hillstream loach today and it looks like his side might be injured? It looks like there might be a small tear in his "skin" on the side.
I didn't notice it a the LFS when I saw him, but he was sucked onto the front of the tank so it could have been there. I was wondering if he might have gotten it when he was put the guy put him in the net (little guy looks pretty delicate).
Anyway I have been watching the tank for a while and haven't seen anyone in my tank picking on him so I am thinking he was injured before I got him or in the transport.
So to get to the point what should I do with him?
-Leave him alone and see if it gets better. He
