Based on Emma's excellent posts about her Clown's strange behaviour and the possibilities of it being some sort of pre-spawning ritual, I was telling her in an E-mail about our cichlids doing weird stuff.
We have a 6-foot tank with some mixed SA cichlids and various catfish. All the cichlids are female.
For ages now, the Uaru and the Satanoperca have been "girlfriends" and and occasionally the friendship gets somewhat deeper and they decide to spawn. They will then both gang up on the Pike Cichlid female! It's always the Uaru that lays eggs and this time I actually got some photos.
