I got a new clown loach yesterday about 1.5 inches, and appears to be pretty healthy. I just fed the tank some blood worms and as I approaced, I scared the crap out of the new guy, he swam head first into the gravel! I know some loaches bury themselves in sand but I never saw any of my clowns do it. He was into the gravel half way with his tail sticking out vertically. he wasnt moving but I got him to come out and now hes doing the loachy dance and seems ok. He gave me a scare for a couple minutes there. Do I need to switch to a sand substrate?
