Colin the lecontei

I ended up with a 10 gallon tank about two years ago, adopted from friends who finally got their doctorates and headed cross-country. Of the three green tiger barbs and one loach that came in the tank, only Colin, my loach, remains. I have replaced the barbs and added a dwarf pleco. I came across loaches.com in my search to see just how big Colin is going to get. He is sort of long a bluish with really bright orange fins and little mouth barbels. Is he a botia lecontei, or modesta? Just how big is going to get? Does he want friends to hang out under rocks with, or just be left alone to brood?
