A shocking tale i'd like to share

once, about a year ago, i had my dahli ring loaches (2), tiger loaches (2), and my little friendly dojo loach. they were all living happily until: BANG! ich attack. i didn't know what to do, and, being as i never knew the "treat medications half strength with loaches" rule, i treated the tank THOROUGHLY. Sadly, my 2 dahlis died on the spot, and my tiger died soon after :(. but now what surprises me is that, HOW IN THE HE** did dojo loach survive?! if it was luck, then how come he just continued on his "normal" business? not that it matters, but can anyone explain this?
