Loaches and Atmospheric Pressure

I picked up a book in my lfs a couple of days ago called 'Keeping Loaches in the Home Aquarium', by Dr. Peter Anthony Lewis, c. 1994. He makes a throw-away comment early in the book about how loaches are sensitive to atmospheric pressure. Has anyone here observed that?

I have to say that it never occurred to me to relate behaviour to pressure, but I could certainly imagine a basis for such a relationship. However, my imagination is fertile, and I'd be interested in anyone's actual experiences ;-)

Anyone have fish that go nuts or torpid just prior or following storms, or during the passage of pressure fronts?
