Clown loaches are sick. Help!

My clown loaches are ill. At first I thought they had whitespot. Looks exactly like it but did not respond to treatment. Now it seems to be - the closest thing I can describe - is dandruf. They have flakey bits all over their skin. They are eating alright - only coming out to feed - hiding the rest of the time. Any Ideas? Please help they are the coolest of fish when well and I'd hate to lose them.

Please feel free to reply directly to me. Just remove the cheese.
