I am a freaked out right now. I have been painting my bedroom for where my 70 gallon tank resides with 25 assorted botias. I left my lights off as well as my fan on my hood off while doing this and ran a window exhaust fan the whole time.
Yesterday after finishing I turned the lights back on and uncovered the tank and it was a little cloudy. This morning at 8am I turned the lights on early to check on them and all my fish were at the surface gasping for air including rams, rainbows etc. I checked for ammonia it was "0" I then checked nitrites and there was a low reading where it should have been "0"!!
I did an emergency 60% water change added carbon and 5x dose of prime which is supposed to detox nitrite. I also squeezed a bunch
