Eye Cloud on clown loach

I have had my first pair of clown loaches for about a year now. I have fallen in love with these 2. They are so excited to see me in the morning (the swim along the glass with my angel fish). Yesterday I added 2 Blue Rams to the tank when I noticed my smaller loach appeared to have a little bit of a cloudy substance over his 1 eye. When I checked on him the next day it appeared worse and was starting on the second eye. My tank has been very healthy for about 2 years now. I have choosen to treat them with Melafix. Is this a wise choice? Also all of my fish appear to get along fine but I if anyone can tell me if this is an ok campatability of fish I would greatly appreciate it.

I have 20 Gallon tank
2 angels
2 clown loaches
8 black tetras
3 lemon tetras
