CAE & loaches

I was wondering if this has ever happened to any one before...About 4 years ago I got my first loach, a dojo, and I had it with a Chinese Algae Eater. Well, one day I found my CAE had been sucking on the side of my dojo (I caught him in the act and the dojo was perfectly healthy) and there was a huge mark on its side. I put in medicine and removed the CAE but my little dojo died. I ended up selling the CAE and have never purchased another and have no plans to. Has anyone ever had this sort of thing happen to them?
