B. kubotai

I purchased three of these fish a short while back. I'm surprised that they aren't the greatest of feeders -- not totally passive, but this doesn't seem to be their strongest suit.

I can see how these fish might lose out and slowly waste away if placed with a horde of more capable Botia type feeders (such as dario).

Mine are slow to come out to feed, and when they do they just seem a good deal slower to get to the food than other fish. The other fish become fat by the time the kubotai have a few bites.

Has anyone else had this observation?
