HELP- dead loach

Help!!!! please all you worthy famulous loach pros. Came home yesterday to my tank to find one of my loaches dead. He was floating on his back covered in what looked like a slime/skin peeling off.

Immediately checked water parameters...everything was fine - pH at 6 which I have raised a little but thats it. Did a 1/4 water change just to be safe.

Have 3 other loaches in the tank (among many other tank mates) and they look fine but then all 4 loaches seemed fine a day or two ago. This was one of the larger two loaches I have (had) and I did see him in a tussle with another a few nights ago - I assume it was a territory issue. Is it possible that the other loach killed this one?? I could find no obvious injuries or markings on him that would indicate cause of death - accept for the peeling.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated as I'm worried about the others now. Couldn't stand to lose them all.... :(
