Harold's Beautiful Angelicus

Finally got some free time to get some pics together of the Botia angelicus that we picked up 6 of on Saturday. Nic went down to Toronto (5 hour drive from here in Sudbury) with her sister and got them from the Menagerie Pet Shop. Very cool species!! I really hope that they do become common in stores as many believe so that everyone who's interested can enjoy them. They really are unique in behavior, although we haven't seen them dig, let alone bury themselves, yet as others have.

They're certainly social, that's for sure! And I see now what people mean by "snake-like" movements...they've really got quite the wiggle to their swim. And ours are also slow going in catching onto the aquarium food thing. The first thing they've eaten so far was Hikiri algae wafer, followed by bloodworms of course. They're definitely one of our favorite loaches now!

Thanks Harold, it was very much worth the trip!!
