Weather Loach Left the Tank!

Ok... so about 20 minutes ago i was on my way out the door to work and saw one of my weather loaches in a ball on the carpet. Looked pretty dry and dead.
I poked it with a spoon and it started flipping out, so i dropped him in a glass of tank water with some stress coat and he resumed normal breathing. When I left for work he was sitting in the floating bag i put him in right side up and breathing.
Fortunately, i live 1 minute from my job, so i can check back today and make sure it's all right.

Any suggestions on how to help him recover and prevent this from happening again?
