Tiger Botia sp., tough enough to...

I spotted some "Botia sp." in an LFS today that appear to be of the B. hymenophysa family (& at a GREAT price-$6.99/US).

I understand they can be a bit nasty. But are they nasty *enough* to put up with a sub-adult (6-7") Blackbelt Cichlid (C. marulicauda)? The loaches are presently in the 3-4" size range.
