Help with clowns

hi. I was removing thhe plants in the loach tank yesterday ( i was about to place plants in pot to prevent them from being uprooted). When i reached the sink, i noticed one of my clowns was still in the plants. I forgot that one must use a wet towel to place the fish back in the tank, and i used my bare hands to hold the fish and rushed back to the tank. Should i do anything right now? add some salt to stimulate slime growth?

Also, what's the best preventive step for ick? Salt? higher temperature? medicine at half-dose?
