average life span?

I was wondering if anyone knows what the average expected life span of the Weather Loach (Dojo) is? We currently have a Dojo that we purchased in late 1994 who seems to be as healthy and active as ever. Does anyone know about how much longer I can expect to enjoy my little friend?

Also, any recommendations on whether or not it would be a good idea to add another Dojo to the tank at this point? We have a 30 gallon aquarium, so there is plenty of room for another loach, but I don't want to do it if it's going to upset "DJ". Are they territorial within their own species?
