Plant question

I checked out a new LFS I heard about in Sunnyvale this weekend - fabulous place. Absolutely the cleanest shop I've ever seen, over 100 tanks, and very healthy fish. They also had some very nice plants.

I couldn't resist. I bought two anubias, one var. nana and the other var. coffeefolia. There was no visible disease or snails in the tank. (In fact, they keep a stable population of fish in there, and some were breeding.)

I've always been taught that you should quarantine everything. I put the plants in a fishbowl (which has NEVER contained fish!) with a fertilizer tab. The bowl is unheated.

So here's my questions: Is it necessary to quarantine these plants? If so, for how long? And lastly, will being in unheated water harm them? I don't have my usual quarantine tank set up right now, but could do so if necessary.

Thanks to all.
