Hi ,

I have a 23 gallon tank with four small clown loaches, two corys and one skunk loach and two firemouths, ph 7.2, temp 78. I will be setting up a large tank for the loaches only soon. However, I'm in the middle of an algae bloom because of over feeding (loaches always look hungry) with high nitrates, so I've been changing water daily. And have been using some chemical resins to help the nitrate removal. But in the last week two of my loaches began to hide and everybody was scratching like crazy.

The first loach hung straight up and down for a few days then started eating and now looks fine. A day after that another started scratching with gill trouble also and still looks scraped and breathing troubles but is coming out to feed.

The thing is they are no spots, no nitrites. I thought maybe because I have been adding the ch
