Java fern die off OT

This is a bit off topic, but I have java fern in all five of my tanks and it tends to grow very very well. In fact, I'm always trimming an thinning it out. Lately, though, the java fern in two of my tanks is not looking too good. It is developing brown patches and small holes on the leaf and appears to be rotting at the base. It seems to be happening fairly fast too. The only changes in these two tanks is that I added anacharis. Any suggestions as to what is causwing this and what to do about it.
