Missing Fish

I bought two Otos a few days ago and they did an incredible job of cleaning up my Brown Algae. Now one is missing.

I have lost a number of fish this way. Usually I might not have looked closely for a few days and so figure they died and then were eaten. Once I found the cutest little skeleton of a Clown Loach.

Another time I did, a long time later, find a dried-up Chinese Algae Eater behind something on the floor.

The Oto could have gotten out a small hole but logistically it's unlikely. And I've checked all over the floor. I also checked in the filter.

My question is can a fish die and be eaten till there's nothing left just overnight? Also I can tell by their stomachs when my Clowns have eaten, but they
