Does cryptosporidium affect fish?

as some of you know we have an iron/ammonia warning for our water. The situation is going to probably get a little worse before it gets better. We are at 35% or our regular capacity at this time and we have no significant rainfal in sight. Apparently, the water that we do have could be contaminated with high levels of cryptosprodium and Giardia in the near future as the volcanic ash is disturbed on the bottom of the reservoir. I am considering buying RO water for the duration but wanted to know what you all thought? Am I being overly paranoid?
