I needed to stock up on "dither" fish. After two years, my Neons and Zebras were getting thin.

I found a nice small lfs when we moved here. He had no large Zebras, but was going to get me some when he went on his buying-trip.

I called today- no large Zebras. (My Clowns or the Paradise have been eating anything of small size this last 6 months!) BUT, he did have a large stock of BIG Black Cardinal Tetras.

A while ago someone mentioned how beautiful these were in the right light- a silvery blue with a horizontal black stripe. They were BIG, and he had a price of $4.00 each, not bad for the size. So I told him no, I liked the Zebras because they were cheap (and tough!!), about $1.25 for large ones, the Cardinals were too much.
