Coarseness of Gravel for Clown Loaches

I have finally discovered that the years-old gravel in my community tank causes the pH to rise so I am replacing it. (I caused ich and killed most of my fish trying to lower it with pH Down.)

I found a gravel product called Wonder Rock which is covered with a synthetic material like clear plastic. It says it causes no chemical changes in the water. This sounds great, but it is pretty coarse.

Does the gravel need to be pretty fine for Clown Loaches to push around in?

Thanks, Peter

I just found Wonder Rock on the web (see link) and it looks like it comes in different coarsenesses. Looks like "Pebble Beach" would be pretty fine. B
