sick loach

I recently purchased 6 small (~1") clown loaches. They're currently in a 20 gal quarantine tank and I just noticed that one of the loaches is breathing a bit heavily and he has a small wound in his side. I can't tell whether it is an ulcer or a puncture wound and I'm not sure how I should go about treating it. The other loaches seem to be fine at the moment.

What sort of preventative treatments do people recommend for loaches?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
