Rescuing (and healing) a clown...

I just saw a 3" clown in the LFS with a bulging eye. He still seems fairly active and was all over the front of the tank. I think someone gave him to the shop when he got sick as he's bigger than the other loaches they have.

I've seen sick clowns before but resisted the temptation to buy them but feel differently about this guy. I never buy sick animals to help encourage stores to take better care of their livestock. But this LFS isn't one of those hellhole stores you hear about and it appears the fish was dumped there and his injury the fault of his previous owner, not the store or its distributor.

They're selling clowns for $15 compared to $7-8 last year.

Lastly, has anyone had experience dealing with popeye in loaches?
