Do clowns swim funny?

I was wondering if clown loaches normally move their fins about quite fast? These are very new fish to me, so not sure if it is just the way they are or if they are a little stressed out. Anyway, most of the time they swim they just kind of pick around at things and swim smoothly, other times, they seem to be shivering. Is this normal? I am sure, as with all new species to the tank, I will see different behaviors, I just wonder what is normal. Thanks!
