Slightly off-topic question re: bogwood

Well dang, I just bought a cool, medium-sized piece of bogwood (Kiki wood? )and the sucker floats :-(

I have a 4"x4" piece of slate with a hole in it that I thought I would use as an anchor. If I use a stainless steel screw and a stainless steel washer to attach the wood to the slate, will that hardware be ok in my tank? (Do they make stainless steel washers? They must.)

The bogwood is for a loach tank and they will love the twisted roots...there, back on topic.
