Mystery Loach Pics & Suboccular Spin Question *PIC*

Well, BB didn't end up in the slammer for copyright infringement with his recent book scans, so I suppose I'll try my luck with this great new book we just got.

It's "Aquarium Fish of the World - The Comprehensive Guide to 650 Species". It's not exactly loaded with information, but is loaded with fantastic photos - makes for a great coffee table book! Check it out at Amazon.com with the link below if you want to check into it more. The loach section is the best I've ever seen in a general aquaria book in regards to photo selection. There's a few gorgeous unconfirmed specimens that I thought some of you might be interested in seeing.

In this book, they mention that the suboccular spines are actually mildly toxic. That's the first I've ever heard of this, and wondered if anyone else has heard this claim or can confirm it. Perhaps that's why it hurts like hell if you puncture your hand with their spines?
