Snails & Clown Loaches

I have been interested in getting some clown loaches to control the snails that are taking over my 30 gal. hex tank. I have 2 very large angels, 2 cories and 7 neon tetras in there now. I have an undergravel filter and regular gravel you find in the pet shop in there (I'm assuming it's coated); will this be OK? The pH is 7.0 and temp is about 80 degrees.

I know they need to be kept in groups to be healthy but I don't want to overcrowd them, either. Can I get only 2 with this size of tank & population and have them still be OK? I've been told they should only go into a 50gal tank or larger. Will they grow only to the size of the tank? An 8" fish probably wouldn't work in
