Does anyone know anything about this report of the breeding of clown loaches found on Not Catfish (http://www.notcatfish.com/ffotm/2000_08.htm)
Breeding: Little is known but home aquaria spawnings are occurring.
Werner NOWAK reported spawning a group of 6 ( 2 female 4 male) seven inch specimens in a 140 litre tank furnished with large Echinodoras and driftwood. The tank was filtered with an external canister filter containing peat and sponge media The water parameters were; pH 6.2, DH 2.0, temperature 84-86°F.
Over 40 eggs were laid deep in the crown and exposed roots of the plants. He fed his fish on a mix of dried food, spinach, beef heart and shrimp pellets. NORWAK reports the fry attaining a length of ¾" at seven weeks.
Wild fish apparently spawn in the rainy season i
