Grouping Loaches..

Well, it looks like I'm FINALLY ready to try clown loaches again after a VERY poor start with my first batch. To make a long story short, I ended up loosing all 6 to ich (3 2", and 3 1"). Everything I've read talks about getting as BIG a loach as you can find, and group them 2~3 at a time to start. I really want to make this fish the centerpiece of my tank, so I want to try and avoid the mistakes I made last time. (I think I added too many fish too quickly, and since they were so small, it stressed them out and the ich came rushing in)

Here's my question. I found a BEAUTIFUL 4" Loach at a LFS, BUT it's alone in the tank!! The only other ones he has are in a different tanks and about 1/2 the size. I have another LFS across town that has some 3" ones. Will these fish get along an
