my clowns do not really do much

I acquired three 3 to 4 inch clown loaches about 2 weeks ago. My tank has been set up for 1 month and 12 days. Finally the cycle is done. My aquarium is a 100 gallon live planted tank with wood and rocks in it as well. My loaches must be eating because they are still alive and my levels are 7.0 ph and all of the others are at zero except for my nitrate which is at 7.5 which is hardly anything. So why do I only see activity when the lights are off. I do not understand. I am going to purchase a few more tomorrow to see if that is the reason. But I am not sure. I need help understanding what to do.
