Life expectancy of Weather Loach

What is the life expectancy of a weather loach.
I have just lost one who was about six years old.
I am slightly concerned because he became quite thin towards the end and had some markings on his skin which did not respond to medication. However he had a ferocious appetite right up until the end.
I am hoping these symptons are normal signs of aging as my concern is that it could have been Fish TB,which can be passed on to humans .
