Loach in the filter...

I've heard of this happening to others, but its the first time I've experienced it. This morning about 3am, I heard something hiting the lid of an Eclipse tank I have. When I went over and opened the top, there was one of my leptobotias thrashing around in the filter. Its suboccular spines were tangled in the filter pad, but I got it back into the water unscathed. The only thing I can think of is that it swam up the filter outlet, under the biowheel and onto the filter pad. Thats quite a feat for a three inch fish even such a flexible one as a leptobotia. Today, he seems fine and was eating normally.
