Dead skunk in the middle of...

I'm new here(only posted once before)but have been browsing this forum for a while.The talk about skunk loaches doing better,with others of the same,caught my attention.Having only one skunk(who acts a little aggressive)I decided to add another to my tank.The result of my effort was tragic.
One day,last week,my son offered to let me have the skunk in his tank.The pH difference between our two tanks is quite large and when adding the new fish,I think that I rushed the acclimation procedure a little bit(never having experienced pH shock before)and ended up with a dead skunk loach.
