The Loach Forum Archives (3)

We just set up a new tank about a week ago. We have 2 dojo loaches to do our bottom feeding, but the tank is set up for African ciclids. One of the loaches is acting stranger than loaches usually act. It anchors itself vertically in one of the living plants, head down, tail up, and stays like that for hours. I have wondered if it was dead, but the gills move and if I go near it with the net, it darts away. But, it eventually goes right back to the same plant. We have noticed a clear bubble-like growth on it's underside, and wonder if this may be a normal egg-laying routine, since we haven't seen it before. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
