Aggression in Orange finned loaches

I have 3 orange finned loaches - I gathered some basic info (there was not much around at the time) and as they were a shy shoaling fish I got 3.
Two of them spend a certain ammount of time chasing and spinning around each other at a certain time of night and this can get a bit heated. There are some marks appearing around the tail (some raggedness in the tail and around the 'skin' there is an effect rather like the diffrent colouring dolphins get on their ' skin' when something has brushed against them). There are no actuall wounds. During the majority of the day they are fine if sometimes a little bossy with each other.
Is this relitively 'harmless' sparring and compeating or has does anyone know if these guys could benifit from a few more orange
