Do Skunks play dead? Sleep in plants?

OK, back to my thin loach. Over the past two days he has taken to hanging out in my plants, draping himself over some leaves, and acting like he is dead. Naturally, this has trained me to reach in there and check, and he always swims off.

Is this normal loach behavior? Or, is the little guy really sick? My bigger Skunk does what I would call normal loach things like hide in caves, stay in the lower half of the tank (except at feeding time), NOT drape himself over plants, NOT playing dead, etc...He's always there at feeding time, and I think he is eating then. He swims actively at times. Apart from being really thin, haning in plants at time, and doing a really good dead impersonation, I'd think he was just a young skinny loach.
