Depends on how many clowns you want to keep. In such little water only about 2 to 4 possibly 5 would work. Clown Loaches apparently like to be in schools. The more of them together the better. Obviously you need a big aquarium, about 4 feet in length or greater to have them in a nice school of about 8 or so. You can pack them into your aquarium like sardeenes in a tin and they would live for long -PROVIDING you have VERY GOOD filtration. But their size will most likely be hindered; they would take forever to grow. I personally like a crowed aquarium. It looks nice. I dont think the fish has a problem with it, its just that you have to get a POWERFUL filter and try to hav
