Sick and Panting Clown Loach

Hello all. I just found this great forum. I already learned a lot by just browsing through your posts. I am new to this hobby and need all the help I can get.

I have a used 55 gallon Wet/Dry tank that was given to me by family. until last night, I have been having great luck and no incidents. I had no cycle due to keeping the bio balls and pebbles moist. I have had the tank for a little more than a month now, and have a full community of fish.

3 large Clown loaches were the most recent addition. They joined 2 small Clowns that are doing great. It has been a week since I introduced the three large loaches. I now have lost one tiger barb by an unknown cause, and one large loach is panting heavily.

I don't see any white dots, or other sickness signs. I have also started a copper treatment.
