Kuhli Loaches - Substrate

Posted By: Christopher

I'm just starting a freshwater tank, and I really like what I've seen about Kuhli's (coloring, shape, behavior, etc.)

Most of what I've read says they need a soft substrate or one without sharp edges, but in one of the books that says this, they show a photo of a Kuhli over a gravel substrate.

My tank has an artficial (epoxy coated?) substrate, but it is very smooth with no rough edges.

Any thoughts?
