Clown Loach Behavior

Hello all.

I have 4 new Clown Loaches in my quarantine tank and I was wondering...

Is it normal for these guys to get in a group and swim up, then down, then up then down, ad infinitum (you get the picture)? I mean these things are wacky. I really hope that this is fairly normal. I have been worried about putting them into a cycling tank, but I have been keeping a close eye on the ammonia and nitrite levels and have been doing appropriate water changes.

Please let me know if you have experience with this type of Clown craziness.
