In Response To: Loaches and zucchini - a question (Iris)

Here's what I did:

Take 1 zucchini, slice modestly thinly. Boil 4 slices (one per tank) until they were soft but still firm. Yum!

Let 'em cool, then put a plant weight on each slice and dropped a slice into each tank.

By morning, here's what I had:

Clown loach/skunk loach tank: untouched

Angelfish/cory tank: untouched

Tetra/cory/dojo/khuli tank: maybe slightly nibbled

Modesta tank: totally destroyed, nothing but the skin left and that full of holes.

By this I have to conclude that my clown, skunk, dojo, and khuli loaches are not interested in zucchini. The modestas, however, are fresh veggie fans! The slices were mostly used as a soft spot for corys to sit in the two tanks with corys...

It just goes to show you, they have individual tastes. I'll have to get a veggie clip and try spinach next time, meanwhile, I'M eating the rest of the zucchini! CLICK!
