Dojos and snail consumption?

I've had a dojo loach in my khuli+tetra tank for a few weeks now - he's an amazingly interesting fellow (not little, he's about 3-1/2 inches long). Since I've had him in the tank, when I vaccuum I notice a lot more empty snail shells. Now, I haven't heard anything about the dojo's snail-eating ability, and since he doesn't have the "hoover-face" of a botia I'm wondering if it's him doing the deed or if the tetras have decided to experiment with escargot...

Anyone have any information on this? Thanks!
