hi. i have a very playful and active clown loach that has had on 3 different mornings what appears on the left side of his nose (not mouth) a bit in front of his eye and down maybe 1/4 inch ..an exact replica of an elephant tusk with a tiny tusk right under it (except it points backwards and not to the front).

a couple of hours after getting them up, the "tusks" are gone.

is this normal or what?

freshwater,20 gal ph 6.8 temp 78 nitrates under 30 ppm. ammonia nil. the gourami and platys cories are fine
